Thank you for supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Your generous donation of $250 during the paddle raise at the Grand Finale on 05/17/2014 in support of 2014 Man & Woman of the Year campaign brings us closer than ever to a world without blood cancers – we truly appreciate your generosity!

While we have made great strides in the fight against blood cancers in the past 60 years, there is still much to be done to put an end to these deadly diseases. LLS has invested nearly $1 billion to advance cancer therapies but we will not be satisfied until there is a 100% survival rate for all types of blood cancers. Last year alone, LLS invested approximately $70 million in cutting-edge research and nearly half of all new cancer therapies approved by the FDA between 2000 and 2012 were first approved for blood cancer patients.

In addition to our aggressive research efforts, LLS provided financial aid to 30,603 patients and our community-based education programs reached almost 43,300 patients and caregivers in 2013. An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with or are in remission from a blood cancer and we are here to provide them life-enhancing services including support groups and peer counseling.

Thank you for making all of this possible with your financial support. Thank you for caring.

Best wishes,
Caitlin Selby
